Description

As the title suggests, this piece is part of a cycle of works for various instruments, whose aim is to explore in detail the expressive and technical potentialities of their respective instruments. The clarinet here speaks with its own 'vocal' and 'instrumental' voice!

Highly virtuosic and predominantly polyphonic in its textural format, the idiosyncratic character of this work is inextricably linked to the versatility and the huge range of expression and dynamics of the clarinet. And who better to give us all these, and much more, than its dedicatee.

This work was completed during the composer's residency at The Dora Maar House in Ménerbes, Provence, in September 2019, supported by The Brown Foundation in Houston, USA.
