Conceived during the first lockdown, this piece is a muscial response to the Coronavirus pandemic, hence the title. Although in no way programmatic, the music is a personal reflection on the devastating effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, whose impact we have yet to fully grasp. From the musical viewpoint, the 'transfigured' external world is 'reassembled' as an expression of the internal world; hence, contrast, in terms of character and tempo, dynamics and register, becomes the driving force behind the entire work.
